St. Patrick's Day Garden Flag
Total cost of project: Less than $10.00 and with LOTS of felt & burlap leftover.
Materials:
- Burlap
- 2 shades of green felt
- Green/white thread (Iris Craft thread)
- sewing needles
- Iron
- St. Patrick's day felt stickers (you can buy at the craft stores)
- St. Patrick's day ribbon
You will probably only need less than 1/4 of both shades of green felt. I always overbuy when it comes to felt. This is so that I can build up a good overstock of colors.
Just simply cut out your clove patterns and pin them onto your burlap flag, then sew them on. I used Iris craft thread, because I thought the seam would stand out a little more on the flag and make it look more hand crafted.
Then I sewed the ribbon along all sides of the burlap because the burlap was starting to fray. Common burlap issue. I found for this project it was best to use burlap and felt because they are weather resistant.
After everything was sewed together I used the iron low setting) to get all the wrinkles out. This was a super easy, fun project that you can do with the kids too! It took me less than 2 hours to complete.
