Today I am sharing my stencil project. We have managed to keep our master bathroom powder room pretty bland over the last couple of years. I know that I wanted to do something to spruce it up, it just took me a while to figure out what to do. I thought stenciling would be the way to go. This project took far longer as I anticipated it would. I ran into a few complications along the way which I will get into later.
Wall decor
So I did some rearranging in the front of our home. We are getting ready to work on a BIG project in our living room, dining room and foyer (it has not begun yet, but stay tuned!) You see, I have this wall in the foyer of my home. I do not like this wall because the good old ac vent is there and cannot be covered in any way. I had a table in front of it for the longest time, but I found that it was taking away from the looks of my table. Plus the dust was building up in the ac vent. I really do think I should be blocking it, but the AC man never told us it was not OK. Anyways, for the longest time I was trying to figure out what to do with this wall. My first thought was a gallery wall! You can do so much with a gallery wall. There are no rules or limitations of what you can put on it. So I made my decision, gallery wall it is!
So I found this mint colored frame at my local craft store. I love mint colored things. Our little girl's nursery is mint, her 1st Birthday party featured mint, my Cricut is mint colored, I own several mint colored blouses, and my nails are currently mint! I am mint obsessed! Although in this case I am not sure if was being mint obsessed or the 70% off sale that got me.
Here it is! We had so many projects lined up, we were able to complete almost all of them with the exception of the custom closet. There is just not enough time in the day to tackle everything. We decided to move the custom shelving project to our pantry which would be 100 times more beneficial to us. So that will be a future project.
Since we are not finding out the sex of the baby we decided it was best to go with something gender neutral for the nursery. Most of you know I love pandas! This was the perfect opportunity to incorporate pandas into the mix. I did not want to go black and white theme and base it just on the pandas, so I thought why not make it jungle themed/ABC themed. That way I am not limited to just buying panda items. My goal is to keep the nursery colors fairly light and pastel-like. That is just always how I envisioned our child's nursery to be.
We FINALLY picked a color and finished painting our Master Bathroom. I love it! Its very warm and goes well with the tile as well as with our Master bedroom color scheme.
I am not one for having "sayings wall art" all over the house, one or two is enough for me. I did come across this on pinterest, thought it hit close to come. So of course rather than buy it i recreated it. Here is what I found on pinterest:
Beer Caps Canvas
Total cost of Project: Under $5.00 (not including beer caps)
If you have a wide variety of beer caps and are not sure what to do with them, why not make it into art? My Husband and I enjoy drinking beer, over the years we have become more or less "beer snobs" we enjoy drinking the crafty beers. After trying to figure out what to do with them, I thought I wonder how they would look on a small canvas. Since my husband loves beer I thought the beer caps art would be an awesome addition to his office.
